St Francis De Sales College
Description:
The St Francis De Sales project involved the construction of a two storey classroom building including eight new GLAs and a new lift. Access to the site was very restricted and required constant management. Lift shaft walls were originally specified as precast concrete but due to access restrictions these were constructed using core filled form block.
A steel frame structure supports a suspended concrete slab and stairs. Kingspan insulated panels and texture coated fibre cement were used to clad the building. Internally the building includes a number of operable walls, cavity sliders and large internal windows between rooms. A teacher’s office is located on both levels and all rooms open to a west facing shared area.
